September 6 to 13, 2024
A few years ago, I stumbled onto a photo of wild horses that stopped me in my tracks. It was taken by a Turkish photographer named Nuri who specializes in photography and workshops in the Cappadocia region of Turkey, which happens to be home to a herd of about 225 wild horses. The photos I saw were simply stunning, and I thought to myself, “I want to do a workshop with these horses”. Well, after doing some research, and lots of communication back and forth over the last few years, we partnered up and did a workshop in September of 2022, as well as October of 2023, which were very successful.
I am very excited to offer this workshop again in 2024, as I think it will be a truly amazing experience once again. We have charted out a number of areas where we can work with the horses, so there will be a lot of variety photographing the horses, but there will also be a ton of photo opportunities at other places in the region as well.
This region of Turkey is very beautiful and is a popular destination for photographers. And don’t be surprised if you see dozens and dozens of hot-air balloons while we are there, a very popular thing to do here!!
Participants will also have the experience of staying in one of the area’s infamous “cave hotels”, which are beautiful and are literally carved out of the rocks on the hillsides. Here is a good description of Cappadocia from the Lonely Planet guide: “As if plucked from a whimsical fairytale and set down upon the stark Anatolian plains, Cappodoccia is a geological oddity of honeycombed hills and towering boulders of otherworldly beauty”.
This is a 6-day, 7 night workshop that includes accommodation, all meals, travel to and from the airport, and transportation to the many different shooting locaeions we will be exploring during the workshop.
As with all workshops, Tony will share his entire creative process with participants… how to see and work with light, planning a shoot with the right angles and perspectives, choosing backgrounds, camera settings during the shoot, and all that goes into the creation of a dynamic image after it has been shot.
Cost is $5500 per person sharing a room. Single supplement (private room) is $490 extra. Limited to 12 people.
Non-refundable deposit is $2500
