June 1 to June 6, 2025
My criteria for finding ranches to host my equine photography workshops are very specific: The ranch needs to be relatively small, so that we could get all of the attention and focus that we need. It also needed to be a family-run ranch, not a resort. It has to be in a beautiful area. It has to have a good sized herd of horses to work with, and I need the owners and staff to be excited and enthusiastic about hosting an equine photography workshop. I chose this ranch in 2018, and this will be my 14th workshop at this ranch. Previous workshops were a great success, so we plan to continue with this ranch for a long time. The owners and staff are all very enthusiastic, and are looking forward to us returning in 2025.
This is a 5-night workshop that will take place at a beautiful guest ranch in northern Idaho, only about an hour south of the Canadian border, in a very beautiful area of Idaho.
This is an all-inclusive workshop, and includes accommodations, delicious meals, instruction and many shooting opportunities, as well as horseback riding, hiking, relaxing, and personal reflection. The workshop will provide many opportunities for photographing our favorite subject in a variety of situations. Tony will share his entire creative process with participants… how to see and work with light, planning a shoot with the right angles and perspectives, choosing backgrounds, camera settings during the shoot, and all that goes into the creation of a dynamic image after it has been shot.
We will shoot at different times of day… mornings, afternoons and evenings, and will either be horseback riding in-between shoots, or editing and working with the images that we have been shooting.
Cost is $3150, with a $400 supplement if you want a private room all to yourself (limited number available). Maximum 12 participants.
Non-refundable deposit is $1500
